Representatives of the District Chemists’ Association led by its president Rakesh Aggarwal met Joginder Singh Maan and SDM Balbir Raj Singh and submitted a memorandum against the alleged indifferent attitude of the police towards chemists. Aggarwal said a circular had been issued to all chemists not to sell any medicine without valid prescription of a qualified doctor. —OC
Woman attacked
The police have registered a case under Section 307and 34 of the IPC against Sukhwinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh on the charges of attacking and wounding a woman in Jagpalpur village Thursday night. The woman was admitted to the civil hospital. No arrest has been made so far. —OC
Seminar held
The Indian Medical Association headed by its president Dr Anil Tandon organised a seminar on breast cancer awareness and its preventive measures on Friday. Dr Navdeep Singh from Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana, was the main speaker. IMA secretary Dr Rajan appreciated the doctors who came on bicycles or on foot to attend the seminar advocating for a pollution-free environment.—OC
