After the lodging of a first information report (FIR) against two boys of Cambridge International School, the Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights will visit the city on February 22 to meet the victim Khushi and her parents.

Following statements of Khushi and her parents published in the media over the January 10 incident in which the Class X girl fell off the fourth floor of the school building, the commission chairman, in a notice issued today, said that his team would visit the city to take stock of the matter and to know the well-being of the victim girl.

The team will reach Circuit House where the principal and management of the school has been called.

The Deputy Commissioner has been asked to arrange for a meeting with parents and victim girl too. “An officer should be deputed for escorting the team to meet the girl and her parents,” Secretary of the Commission Kahan Singh Pannu has directed.

While the incident was earlier perceived as suicide, Khushi and her parents have now alleged that a boy had shown her some nude pictures of hers on his phone minutes before the incident. — TNS
