City professor honoured with Genius Indian Achiever’s Award

After getting his name featured in the Limca Book of records, Prof Kunwar Rajeev from the Department of Physics, DAV College, Jalandhar was lately awarded with the Genius Indian Achiever’s Award 2018 at Vishala Heritage, a prominent place in Gujarat. His memory records entry emerged out to be among top fifty excellent entries out of 500, in various fields of record holders from all over the country.

The glittering award ceremony was organised jointly by the Genius Foundation and World Records India. Genius foundation of Gujarat promotes and honours talented people who are physically and mentally challenged.

Rajeev was honoured for his outstanding achievement in the field of memory. He already has three memory records in India book of records and has also been honoured at Indian record holders at world stage, which was a joint award function for honouring the respective national record holders of eight nations, at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi.

The Prof accomplished this level in the field of memory in just three years. He has mastered many techniques used by Egyptians and Greeks to memorise their religious books along with other important information.

He said, these techniques make even boring subjects interesting and students are able to learn the concepts very easily.

“Most of the people feel that they have average or poor memory. It is because they have chanellized their memory towards using gadgets like laptops, computers and smart phones.

There is a need to make the students practice these techniques of concentration and memory at a very young age. These practices are very common in countries like China, Korea and Japan,” he further explained.

He is also developing a website-thememorytrainer.com to help people develop sufficiently good memory online without personal interaction. He wants to reach masses for imparting this specialised knowledge.
