The Justice Ranjit Singh who is heading the Inquiry commission visited five villages of Nawanshahr today. The commission has been probing cases of sacrilege that took place in the state. Singh interacted with the villagers to gather data and information regarding the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and other religious books.
The panel visited the spots,where sacrilege incidents took place such as Garhi Kanugoa, Jhander Kalan, Khothra, Talwandi Jattan and Saroya.
Justice Ranjit Singh also listened to the villagers and panchayat members of the villages concerned to gather the data and information regarding the sacrilege incidents and also recorded their statements. He also asked the villagers to visit his office on the fifth floor of the forest complex in Mohali on January 17 if they wanted to give more information.
