Cop shoots self at Kapurthala

JALANDHAR: Jaswinder Pal Singh, a Sub-Inspector (SI), allegedly shot himself dead in the police lines toilet at Kapurthala today.

Jaswinder Pal Singh, a Sub-Inspector (SI), allegedly shot himself dead in the police lines toilet at Kapurthala today. He was earlier posted at the CIA branch of Kapurthala and had also served as an SHO in Subhanpur.

According to police sources, the SI was on two-month leave and came on duty today. He got his service revolver issued and later went to the toilet and allegedly shot himself.

The police came to know about the incident when one of the cops went to the toilet.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

While one of the bullets pierced his head and two bullets hit him on the face. The police are investigating the case from two angles of suicide and murder.
