A bright and colourful cultural event ‘Colours of Life’ was organised at Swami Sant Dass Public School (junior wing), Phagwara. Swami Shantanand presided over the function. The lamp lighting ceremony along with recital of the prayer, marked the start of the event. Students mesmerised the audience with their performance. The melodies performances of the students like ‘kudrat ke rang’, ‘let’s meet colours’, ‘ chatte batte’, ‘why this kolaveri’, ‘Hindustan hamara hai’ enthralled the audience. The skit ‘think about it’ stole the hearts of everyone. The highlight of the programme was ‘Christmas giddha’.

KMV collaboration

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, PG Department of Fashion Designing is successfully running the B.Voc programme in textile design and apparel technology has signed an MoU with Deepak Singh, director, One Design Solutions Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, and Joint Director and Head, Media Design Cell, Institute of Apparel Management, Apparel House, Gurgaon. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi said we were entering into collaboration with lead fashion designer. She congratulated Harpreet Kaur and the team of faculty members of the PG Department of Fashion Designing.

National Energy Conservation Day

Eklavya School, Jalandhar, celebrated National Energy Conservation Day on December 14. The day was celebrated to aware students about the importance of energy, as well as saving more energy. Students shared that using energy efficiently was necessary to save it for the future. A video was shown to students depicting how energy use is a major source of increase in global warming.Class X students flagged off a procession in the nearby locality to create awareness among public about the need of energy conservation. They did slogan writing, wrote impressive poems, made beautiful posters and had talk sessions with social science educators to create awareness towards efficient use of energy and its conservation. Seema Handa Director Eklavya School, shared World Energy Conservation Day was a big opportunity to help in taking following initiatives: Being a civilized nation, we should focus attention of decision makers in directing resources towards energy generation through non-conventional sources on a larger scale. Sapna Bakshi Manager Eklavya School and Dimpal Sharma Principal Eklavya School highlighted in their speech that energy conservation should be rooted in the behaviour of the students.

International Tea Day celebrated

International Tea Day was celebrated on December 15. CT Group of Institutions celebrated the event by serving tea to street vendors and workers. Dr Rohit Sarin Director CT Institute of Hotel Management said, “Not just youngsters, but people of all age groups enjoy tea. Tea is a daily affair in every home and we are providing it with different flavours. S Charanjit Singh Channi Chairman CT Group of Institutions said commemoration of such events was very important to bind a grip among one another in the society. It gives positive and warmth vibes.

International conference on physical therapy

Students of Physiotherapy Department of Apeejay College of Fine Arts participated in the international conference on physical therapy held at the AIIMS, New Delhi. 30 students from the Department of Physiotherapy of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, participated in the 5th International Conference on Physical Therapy held at the AIIMS. During this two-day conference, students not only learned the new and advanced techniques in physiotherapy, but also participated in various competitions held there. Dr Neeraj Katyal, Dr Pomila Chopra and Dr Preeti Mattu, from the Department of Physiotherapy chaired the scientific sessions. Principal Dr Sucharita Sharma appreciated the efforts of the physiotherapy department and said the institution is continuously striving to provide such platforms, where the students and the faculty members could enrich themselves. She applauded the winners and said the college strives to make continuous efforts for the holistic development of the students.

Regional level science exhibition

Police DAV Public School is holding CBSE regional level science exhibition from December 16 to December 18. The exhibition is a mega event, in which all CBSE schools from Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir are participating.
