DC launches ‘Campus to corporate 2018’ app

JALANDHAR: Taking a leap forward towards utilising the hi-end technology for facilitating the youth to get jobs under the ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri’ mission of the state government, Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, today launched an app ‘Campus to Corporate 2018’ and website www.davietjal.org/ggn to help the youth and entrepreneurs to get registered for the upcoming ‘Job Fair’ on February 21 being held at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology(DAVIET).

Taking a leap forward towards utilising the hi-end technology for facilitating the youth to get jobs under the ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri’ mission of the state government, Varinder Kumar Sharma,  Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, today launched an app ‘Campus to Corporate 2018’ and website www.davietjal.org/ggn to help the youth and entrepreneurs to get registered for the upcoming ‘Job Fair’ on February 21 being held at DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology(DAVIET).

Launching the app and website here on the campus of DAVIET, the Deputy Commissioner described it as a revolutionary step, which would transform the destiny of students. 

He said the app and website would streamline the process of registration for students/youth, immensely benefitting them in getting good jobs and securing their future. 

Complimenting the faculty and students of the institute, Sharma said such efforts would ensure that the dream of the provision of jobs to every youth of the state under the ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri’ scheme would be fulfilled.

The Deputy Commissioner said the interactive website/app would be of a great help to students adding that the students could register themselves by downloading the app or going directly on the website of the institute. 

He said the student would have the option of applying for jobs in five different renowned companies at a single point of time. 

The Deputy Commissioner said for the facilitation of the students the entrepreneurs who were visiting for the job fair had already registered themselves with details involving the number of vacancies in their company, packages offered by them along with the eligibility criteria for students. 

He said this was a win-win situation for both the students and entrepreneurs, as the students would get good jobs during the fair, whereas the entrepreneurs would get a pool of skilled labour for their industrial units. 

Sharma called upon the students to visit the website or download the app for getting further details about the job fair to be held on February 21.

The Deputy Commissioner said the batch 2017-18 pass-out candidates, having a degree or diploma from various disciplines - such as students of polytechnic, graduates MBA, MCA from all over Punjab, could register for the Mega Job Fair. 

He said the app provides an exhaustive list of participating recruiters along with information, adding that even after the interviews, the candidates could check their results dynamically on the app. 

Dr Manoj Kumar, Principal,DAVIET, apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the unique initiative taken by the students of the college, including Dikshant Gupta, Devanshu Malhotra, Deepanshu, Vikas, Anshul and Rupinder Singh. He also assured fulsome support and cooperation to the district administration from the institute. 

Sharma said the app/website would also inform students about their placements.

Sushil Prashar, placement officer, DAVIET, among others, was also present on the occasion.
