DC seeks report on Urban & Rural Regeneration Mission

JALANDHAR: Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav today held meeting with the officials of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) and sought the progress report of the work done under the Punjab Urban and Rural Regeneration Mission so far.

Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav today held meeting with the officials of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar (MCJ) and sought the progress report of the work done under the Punjab Urban and Rural Regeneration Mission so far.

The district committee headed by Yadav has so far got Rs 184 crore approved under the mission and has received around 25 per cent of the total amount. It has so far constructed two roads from Model House to Babrik Chowk and from Babrik Chowk to Evening College with an estimated amount of Rs 48 lakh and Rs 19 lakh, respectively. However, sources have informed that the MC is yet to provide the utilisation certificates to Yadav who has to submit them to Deputy Chief Minister in a meeting to be held soon at Chandigarh. Yadav also reported to have pulled up the officials for the delay in commencement of major works in the city. —TNS
