Jalandhar, April 25

Jalandhar Deputy Mayor Harsimranjit Bunty on Wednesday slammed the building branch officials for the poor upkeep of records.

Following a controversy that erupted over the new colonisation policy wherein real estate developers had termed it as anti-growth, the Deputy Mayor Bunty had today called a meeting of the building branch officials.

However, when asked about the details of the illegal colonies in the city, the officials could not produce the records of the same.

“They handed me a file which seemed to have been carrying fake records of illegal properties. According to the records, though around 15 to 20 notices were issued in each of the 20 sectors, there is no mention about the follow-up action or the name of the guilty or even details of the sealing done or opened,” said Bunty.

He added that the officials were again told to show the details of the illegal properties and action taken regarding these by Monday.
