Jalandhar, February 19
On the occasion of the 95th birth anniversary of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, Jalandhar District Congress Committee today pledged to make the district drug free if the Congress under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh forms the government.
Office bearers of the committee also paid tribute to the leader by garlanding his statue at the BMC Chowk. Speaking on the occasion, District Congress Committee (urban) president, Daljit Singh Ahluwalia said, “The Congress government in Punjab that is likely to be formed, will work on two major directions including getting rid of unemployment from the district and making the district drug free.”
Jalandhar Municipal Corporation opposition leader Jagdish Raja and senior vice president Harkishan Singh Bawa were also present on the occasion.
