Jalandhar, January 31

Employees from across the state today organised a state-level convention at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall demanding the restoration of old pension policies. The convention was held under banner of Purani Pension Bahali Sangharash Committee.

They decided to launch district-level protests in February and March. The speakers on the occasion termed the old pension policy as anti-employee.

While addressing the gathering, committee convener Jasbir Singh Talwara said that under the new economic policies, both Centre and state have launched the policies that have been adversely affecting the employees, who have been recruited after 2004. New pension policies have snatched the old age support from the said employees.” He said the government has taken back the facilities, including gratuity, DA, medical allowance, family pension, and many other. The organisations that participated in the convention were ETT Teacher Union, BEd Teacher’s Front, Master Cadre Union, Government Teacher Union, Forest Department Employees Union, Para Medical and Food Supply Inspector.
