Jalandhar, March 21

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached a Toyota Fortuner owned by an accused in the Bhola drugs case.

The car, bearing number PB-35-U-2020, which according to reports had been purchased by Sukhjeet Singh, alias Sukha, of Fatehgarh Sahib through ill-gotten money has been taken into custody by officials here. Sukha is facing a case under the violation of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

In another case, non-bailable warrants have been issued against former IAS officer and ex-Commissioner Jalandhar Division Swaran Singh by a special Enforcement Directorate court of the District and Sessions Judge for April 3.

The official has been booked by the Vigilance Bureau for allegedly embezzling funds in the centenary celebrations of Bhagat Singh at Khatkar Kalan.
