EnviorAid to clean water

Members of the EnviorAid organisation Jeet Jagjit, Satish Goyal, Dr Manisha Sharma and Ravi Kumar, along with Bunny Sharma from Sonatech Infrastructure Limited, an England-based company have started efforts to revive the groundwater of the state. 

They said the groundwater of the state had gone down by over 300 feet and immediate steps needed to be taken to revive the groundwater level and render the water of the state clean. 

The members said trials were being held across the state to clear state water of detrimental weeds which were polluting the water of the state, adding that the regularly growing hyacinth and algae in the water of the state which were giving rise to brackish water and also causing a number of diseases. 

They said with the help of FCBS machine to weed out the plant from the water, the water of Harike Lake, Kali Bein at Sultanpur Lodhi and Batala were being tried to be cleaned. 

They said the machine came in handy to weed out polluting plants from an acre in a day, adding that EnviorAid was encouraging people not to pollute water and to plant trees to revive groundwater in the state. 

They said the members had a target of planting 3,000 saplings which shall be planted at Harike, Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala and other areas of the state.
