Taking a cue from manual wedding planning company of ‘Shruti’ (Anushka Sharma)’ and ‘Bittoo’ (Ranvir Singh) of Bollywood’s ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ movie, two students of Lovely Professional University have developed a unique mobile app. The innovative app is destined to change the definition of event planning and management.

Trade marked as ‘Land Scape’, this app has already created a buzz and has got its first benefit as a startup. Starting from a nominal fee, students’ idea is to take it to newer and greater heights. Students’ company for this app has been listed among the 134 selected entities on the Startup India website, and has recognition from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Mechanical and electronics and communication engineering final year students, Pushkar Kumar and Hasan Rahman, had decided to adopt entrepreneurship route under PM Modi’s ‘Startup India Campaign’.

Pushkar, who hails from Dhanbad in Jharkhand, shares: “Coming thousands of miles away from my home town to LPU, I got associated with never-ending world of happenings at the university. I learnt how to plan, conduct, and manage numerous events which ultimately encouraged me to be an entrepreneur. When Hasan and I were planning to form an innovative event management company, by connecting the present event industry with technology, Startup India campaign was inaugurated which further boosted up our dream.”

Adding information, Hasan who is resident of Assam, said: “We applied on the official website of Startup India, our application was vetted by the IMB (Inter Ministerial Board) for its uniqueness and novelty, and we were issued a certificate.”

LPU students’ mobile application, which is a boon both for vendors and people, will be available on all standard platforms. It aims to connect all events through a common digital platform. From here, the supposed customer would be able to choose from his/her day to day events including birthday parties, dates, get together, as well as special events like wedding, anniversaries and more”. Customers will get these events or celebrations planned and executed within their budget and flexible packages in an easy manner from a single spot. Customer would also be allowed to customise ceremonies based on their location, religion, caste, ritual and more.

One of the app’s sections would help vendors engaged in services for catering, light, sound, decoration, transportation and more to get associated for boosting up their current service in each and every corner of the country. Pushkar and Hasan belong to different streams of studies, regions, religions, culture; yet, they have one thing in common that their mind set up is altogether for an ‘App’, which is to manage a technology based trade in the entertainment and event arena. On these lines, the Incubation Centre established at LPU has helped them in carving out their startup plan efficiently. Wishing grand success for these enterprising students,
