Fire broke out in a turpentine factory on the Bharwain road on the outskirts of the town on Saturday evening.

As the fire raged, workers in the micro-level factory unit came out, with the whole area covered in smoke as resin and its byproducts stored in the factory got engulfed in flames.

Two tenders of the Fire Brigade reached the spot and attempts to control the fire began. Senior police and administration officials reached the spot. The cause of the fire and the loss caused could not be figured out.
