FIRs lodged for bursting crackers beyond time limit

HOSHIARPUR: The High Court orders regarding ban on bursting crackers after 9:30 pm on Diwali vanished in noise and smoke of the crackers.

The High Court orders regarding ban on bursting crackers after 9:30 pm on Diwali vanished in noise and smoke of the crackers.

Various police stations have lodged FIRs in this regard. Two persons have been named while most of the FIRS are against unidentified persons.

Mahilpur, Model Town, City, Hajipur, Garhshankar and Mehtiana police have registered the FIRs with regard to violation of the orders.

ASI Roshan Lal of the Model Town police station said he was patrolling with other policemen.

Ram Kumar, resident of Mohalla Kamalpur under the Model Town police station, Hoshiarpur, was bursting firecrackers on road outside his house.

Since it was in violation of the orders of the High Court, an FIR has been lodged against, he said.

ASI Ravinder Singh of the Model Town police station said during patrolling, Manoj Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Bhagat Nagar under Model Town police station, was found bursting firecrackers on road outside his house.

An FIR has been lodged against him for violation of the orders of the District Magistrate, he added.

ASI Daljit Singh of the Hajipur police station said he was present at the bus stand with a police party.

A telephone call by sarpanch Kishori Lal informed him that some unknown persons were bursting firecrackers after the set limit. An FIR against unknown persons has been lodged.

ASI Satwinder Singh of the Garhshankar police station said he was going to Bada Roza Garshankar while patrolling.

When he reached Bada Roza Garhshankar, some unidentified persons were seen bursting firecrackers, who fled from the spot after seeing the police party.

An FIR against the unknown persons has been lodged for violation of the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the District Magistrate.

ASI Hansraj of Mehtiana police station said he was going to Dawida Ahirana bus stand from Basi Daulat Khan while patrolling.

When the police party reached the Attowal bus stop, they heard the noise of firecrackers, which was a violation of the orders of the District Magistrate.

The police have registered a case.

The city police have also registered a case against the unknown persons for bursting firecrackers after the prescribed time.

SI Naresh Kumar of the City police station said some unknown persons in the city were bursting crackers after the scheduled time.
