State’s Cabinet Minister for Industry and Commerce Sunder Sham Arora said it was high time that Punjab to made grew faster in the field of industries. He also said the new industrial policy set up by the Punjab government, would prove beneficial for the industries. It would further contribute to the progress of the state. The industry would also get a huge response and promotion from the Punjab Investment Promotion Board. No stone would be left unturned by the Punjab Government in promoting the state’s industry.

Arora was speaking to journalists after the Guard of Honour presented to him by after official welcome by the district administration. He said bringing transparency in the department would be his foremost priority.

He said the Punjab government was providing a conducive environment to the industries, so that maximum industry could be established in the state. He said Punjab was the only state where the rate of power had been decreased to Rs 5 per unit for industries whereas in other states it was priced between Rs 7 and Rs 8.

He said this exemption by the Punjab government would create more opportunities for the industry and from other states the entrepreneur would be able to set up industries in Punjab.

Arora said the facilities related to industries could be availed under one roof. He also proposed to set up a single window organisation named Investment Promotion Board, Punjab. Through this, the industrialists would be provided different services under one roof.

He said exemptions given under the progressive new industrial policy, stamp duty, power rate, house tax relief under municipal corporation and GST are good steps.

The Cabinet Minister said the Punjab government was committed to purchase every single grain of wheat. Under the special policy adopted by the Punjab Government, the procurement process of wheat was going on very well. He also assured that there was no shortage of gunny bags in the mandis and procurement and payment process was running smoothly.

Arora’s take on industrial development in state
