JALANDHAR: A meeting of nodal officials associated with Kaya Kalp project held at the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala today.

A meeting of nodal officials associated with Kaya Kalp project held at the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala today. Civil surgeon Dr Harpreet Singh Kahlon presided over the meeting. The meeting was held to discuss the project, which is a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Civil Surgeon Dr Kahlon said the staff were responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the hospitals. He said, “The Kaya Kalp project of the government is a laudable effort. With this, the foundational infrastructure of government centres will improve. It will also help in increasing people’s faith in government health centres.”

He asked the nodal officers gathered on the occasion to work as per the government guidelines on the project.

Sarita Duggal, Deputy Medical Commissioner, Kaya Kalp project, said sign boards should be put at health centres for the convenience of people. He said bio-medical waste should be destroyed as per the guidelines of the project. He also sought the making of herbal gardens at health centres. He added that the instruments and implements at the operations theatres and delivery rooms should be destroyed so that patients could be saved from all kinds of infections.

He also said a special attention should also be paid to the health and convenience of the patients. He added that sitting arrangement should also be made for senior citizens and physically challenged patients. Apart from these, he also called for all proper facilities for patients and proper maintenance of fire extinguishers. Dr Sandeep Dhawan, Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, Dr Sukhwinder Kaur and Pargat Singh were present on the occasion.
