Master motivators and motivators deployed under the Swachhta Mission in the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, today said at a press conference that they were appointed two years ago, but no monthly salary had been fixed for them yet. Ravinderjit Singh Gill, state president of the union, said they apprised people of constructing toilets in their homes and told them how defecating in the open could be dangerous for health. They said they also held a protest in Patiala on December 12, but to no avail. “We are not getting anything apart from an incentive,” they added.
