Mid-Day Meal Workers Union, Punjab, in a meeting today decided to organise a two-day dharna (sit-in protest) in front of the office of Director General School Education (DGSE) from December 29.
While addressing the meeting, Bimla Devi, state president of union, said despite the fact that the demands have been accepted by the Punjab Government at several occasion, no notification has been done.
"The Punjab Government is conspiring the contact the functioning the mid-day meal, which will finish our job. We have been struggling hard to get our jobs regularized," she added.
Similarly, Joint Teacher's Front Punjab has all set to organise a three-day protest in front of the office DGSE from December 28.
Front representative Karnail Singh Sandhu said their long pending demands were regularisation of their services, promotion of the teachers, cancelation of 150 students cap, filling the vacant posts, and getting the false cases against the teachers cancelled.
