Minor raped in Nakodar village

A 12-year-old was raped at Kurshaidpur village in Nakodar today. The accused, identified as Raman Kumar (22), is at large.

Kewal Singh, Mehatpur SHO said one of the neighbours of the victim asked her to baby sit her children, which she often used to do. When they reached her home, the neighbour, along with her children, left home by saying that she had some work.

The police said that the neighbour was involved in the conspiracy. Raman Kumar was already inside the house and he raped her after the neighbour left. The SHO said the girl had told that she was crying in the house, when Raman Kumar’s mother came and asked her not to tell this to anybody.

After that, the girl came to her house and narrated the incident to her mother after which they made a complaint to the police. The police said the girl belongs to a poor family and does not study, but she and her family work in various houses.

The girl was referred to the Civil Hospital. The police have yet to register a case against the accused.
