Jalandhar: As the issue of water pollution gets raked up, Jalandhar MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh along with Mayor Jagdish Raja on Wednesday visited the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Basti Peer Daad and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at the leather complex here.
Even as the environmentalist Balbir S Seechewal, whom the MP met a few days back at his dera in Shahkot, has repeatedly been saying the STP is under-capacity and does not work properly, the MP after today’s visit said, “The STP with 50 MLD capacity fulfills the all parameters and has been treating domestic sewer properly.” TNS
