The Punjab Students Union will hold three seminars on the issue of the MR vaccination drive and the questions being raised against it in the state.
Seminars will be held in Punjabi University Patiala on May 27, at Faridkot on June 9 and at the local Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Hall on June 10. The seminars shall be addressed by Resident Doctors Association, AIIMS, New Delhi president Harjit Singh Bhatti, former president Dr Vijay Kumar, retired SMO Amar Singh Azad (MD community medicine and paediatrics), centre for social medicine and Community health department, JNU head, Dr Vikas Vajpayee and D Pritpal.
On the occasion, PSU state president Rajinder Singh said regarding the MR vaccination, rather than answering the scientific questions raised by Dr Amar Singh Azad, the campaign was being implemented even more strictly in the state.
State general secretary Pradeep Kasba and press secretary Mangaljit Singh Pandori said the government’s thrust on health was a mere farce, while people in the state were crying for basic facilities.
