Nukkad natak, women’s health issues discussed at PIMS

JALANDHAR:On the eve of International Women's Day, a continuing medical education programme on 'women health issues' was organised at the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) jointly by Department of Community Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Jalandhar, March 8 

On the eve of International Women's Day, a continuing medical education programme on 'women health issues' was organised at the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) jointly by Department of Community Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. 

The programme aimed at educating people towards gender equality, women empowerment and awareness about the health issues faced by women. Dr KanwaljitSingh (Resident Director, PIMS), Dr Kulbir Kaur (Director Principal, PIMS), President FOGSI Dr Amita Sharma, Dr Kamal Gupta and Dr Kapil Gupta, member, Punjab Medical Council inaugurated the programme with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by a nukkad natak in which the MBBS students left the audience spellbound with their performances. Later, women who have won laurels in their respective fields of work were honoured. 

Students of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya even performed a nukkad natak on the ocassion. —TNS
