Panel to look into complaints against pvt docs

JALANDHAR: The Punjab Government has constituted a state-level committee to look into complaints against private doctors and hospitals in all districts in the state.

The Punjab Government has constituted a state-level committee to look into complaints against private doctors and hospitals in all districts in the state.

In a press release issued here today, the government said that as per the provisions of the notification, the committee would consist of the civil surgeon of the district concerned as its chairman while members would include a specialist doctor of the medical college of the district concerned (not below the rank of Assistant Professor), specialist doctor of the district hospital related to the disease, forensic expert of the district hospital concerned and assistant civil surgeon of the district concerned, who would be the member secretary.

In addition to this committee, if some negligence occurs during the treatment of any patient on the level of a super specialist doctor, in that case, two super specialist doctors of the same disease of PGI, Chandigarh, would be included.
