Phagwara: A truck parked on a roadside caught fire and was badly damaged in a devastating fire that broke out in the fields where wheat stubble had been kept at Panj Dheran village near Phillaur on Monday evening. Fire tenders from Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Phagwara made efforts to control the fire. The police too rushed to the spot. OC

Phagwara: A mobile phones shop was reportedly burgled at Goraya on Sunday night. Dapinderjit Singh, owner of the shop, told the Goraya police that the burglars entered the shop after breaking the locks of the shutters and decamped with 65 mobile phones and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash.
