Parminder adjudged strongest man of Punjab

JALANDHAR:Parminder Singh of Gurdaspur won the title of ‘Strongest man of Punjab’ at a state-level bench press championship organised by the Punjab Powerlifting Association in the city today.

Jalandhar, February 19

Parminder Singh of Gurdaspur won the title of ‘Strongest man of Punjab’ at a state-level bench press championship organised by the Punjab Powerlifting Association in the city today. 

Results: In the 59 kg category: Sarabjit Singh of Kapurthala remained first while Bharat Malhotra of Pathankot and Manpreet Singh of Ludhiana stood second and third respectively. 

60-kg category: Gurpreet Singh of Amritsar clinched the first position. Gurveer Kumar of Nawanshahr won the second position and Balvir Singh of Jalandhar remained third. 

74-kg category: Ramesh Kumar of Jalandhar won the first place while Gurvir Singh of Nawanshahr and Balvir Singh of Jalandhar won the second and third positions respectively. 

83-kg category: Parminder Singh of Gurdaspur bagged the first position. Mohan Lal of Ludhiana and Beant Singh clinched the second and third positions respectively. 

93-kg category: Krishan Ram of Jalandhar won the first position. Arun Kapur of Patiala and Bhupinder Singh of Nawanshahr won the second and third positions respectively. 

105-kg category: Arvinder Singh of Amritsar, Karanvir Singh of Nawanshahr and Hardeep Singh of Ludhiana won the top three places respectively. 

120-kg category: Vikasdeep of Kapurthala and Harshdeep of Jalandhar remained first and second  respectively.
