R-Day functions enthuse patriotic spirit at educational institutions

MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic spirit. Children of UKG and LKG sang patriotic songs, invoking love for the country. Some of the songs were ‘Ai watan Ai watan ’, ‘Vandey Maatram’, and ‘Saare Jahaan se Achha’. They were acquainted with the value and meaning of the Republic Day. The assembly concluded with the recitation of National Anthem. Principal Gunmeet Kaur, vice-principal, K S Randhawa, primary in charge Sushma Prehar and Rainbow in charge, Deepti Kaushal, admired the patriotic spirit of the students. Jarnail Singh Pasricha, secretary, MGN Educational Trust, was also present on the occasion.

Swami Sant Dass Public School

Students of Swami Sant Dass Public School celebrated the Republic Day with enthusiasm. National pride was in the air as the students depicted the varied culture of the country through patriotic songs emphasising the theme of ‘unity in diversity’. Principal TP Kaur congratulated the staff and students on the eve of the Republic Day.

The Nobel School

At the Noble Public School, the managing director of the school, Kumar Shiv Kochhar, hoisted the National Flag. Students recited the National Anthem. They sang group songs, performed a street play and group dance. Students of the kindergarten were dressed beautifully in the costumes of the different states of the country. Principal Meenakshi Mehta, staff members, among others, were also present on the occasion.

GNDU regional campus, Ladhewali

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Guru Nanak Dev University, Regional Campus, Ladhewali, celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Students distributed sweets and put the tricoloured badges. They danced to the tunes of patriotic songs. Dr Namarta Joshi, (HoD) spoke about the significance of the day. She said the youth was the future of the nation and they should be aware of their rights as well as the duties towards their country.

St Soldier Group of Institutions

Students of St Soldier Group of Institutions celebrated the Republic Day with patriotic spirit. They painted their faces with the Tricolour, carried Tricolour dupattas and the National Flag. They praised the national values, soldiers, unity and brotherhood. Sangeeta Chopra, vice-chairperson, and Principal Pratibha Sood praised the effort of the students and motivated them to be a True Indian.

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya

The Department of Cosmetology of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organised a face-painting competition to mark the celebration of the Republic Day. Students participated in the competition with zeal and integrity. They presented messages based on patriotism. Principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the winners and lauded the efforts of the department.

Apeejay School

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, celebrated the Republic Day with gusto. The programme was solemnised by the soulful rendition of a patriotic number by the school choir. This was followed by speeches in Hindi and English by students reflecting the significance of the day. Principal Girish Kumar felicitated the students who had excelled in sports, extra-curricular activities and academics. A Hindi play commemorating the day was also staged on the occasion.
