Rain brings cheer to residents

JALANDHAR: Early morning rain, along with cloudy sky throughout the day, brought respite to the city residents from the scorching heat here today.

Early morning rain, along with cloudy sky throughout the day, brought respite to the city residents from the scorching heat here today.

Due to the extreme heat in the past few days here, the temperature had soared between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius. Today, it plummeted to 38 to 40 degrees Celsius due to day-long cloudy sky, making people happy.

Agriculture experts of the area said that the mild rain was optimum for sowing the paddy crop and various vegetables.
