Rice millers hail govt's initiatives

JALANDHAR: Local and Kapurthala-based rice milers today drafted feedback for the Custom Milling Policy (CMR), which is being prepared by the state government for the next year.

Local and Kapurthala-based rice milers today drafted feedback for the Custom Milling Policy (CMR), which is being prepared by the state government for the next year. They also raised their demands.  

Gian Chand Bhardwaj, president, Rice Mill Association Punjab, met Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on August 2 and discussed the new policy.

Members of the association have put forward their viewpoints and appreciated the government for considering their demands. 

There are 3,500 micro and small rice mills units are present in the district. 

According to the rice millers, they incurred loses due to the policy formed by the previous SAD government.
