The Punjab Roadways, Jalandhar-I, has earned a profit of Rs 1.04 crore during November.
Divulging the details, Praneet Singh Minhas, General Manager, Punjab Roadways, Jalandhar-I, during interaction with mediapersons, said the depot had earned the profit exclusive of all inputs in the form of diesel, spare parts, taxes, bills and others.
Giving the credit of this achievement to the dedication and hard work of the employees, Minhas said this trend would continue in future also, adding that the profit was being earned by the depot continuously for last one year.
Congratulating the officials of the depot, he said the efforts of all of them had enabled the roadways to earn the profit. Minhas said there were around 110 buses in the fleet of the depot, including nine Volvo and 101 normal buses.
“Besides operating on long routes like Delhi, Haridwar, Jaipur, Nainital, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Katra, Pathankot, Talwara and other areas, the depot was also connecting villages through rural bus service,” he added.
He said the depot was providing direct service of Volvo bus from Jalandhar to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Minhas said to check the depleting green cover, the depot had also initiated campaign to plant more saplings within the periphery of the bus stand and on the premises of their offices.
