Jalandhar, December 10

In a protest against the alleged atrocities by a DSP-rank officer, activists of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha held a protest outside the Kartarpur police station here today. Naujawan Bharat Sabha’s state leaders, Kashmir Singh Ghugshore and Veer Kumar said, “The day since the officer has taken charge as the station head rather than curbing the menace like drugs, snatching incidents, flesh-trade, the police is harassing street vendors.

Leaders were also protesting against the illegal detainment of some people. Protesting against the alleged beating up of one such activist, the leader demanded that if the police atrocities were not stopped soon, then they shall be forced to intensify their struggle. However, SHO Devinder Singh Ghumman managed to disperse the protesters after assurances from senior officials to address the demands for the activists. — TNS
