An evening ahead of the MC polls, SAD candidate from Ward No. 51 Balwinder Kaur Bhatia today announced to withdraw from the contest in favour of Independent candidate Arvinder Oberoi, who held the position of the deputy mayor (SAD) in the last term.
The announcement was formally made by SAD leader Sarabjit Makkar and BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia at Oberoi’s place this evening.
Arvinder had left the SAD ahead of Assembly polls and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Just as MC polls were announced, she had rejoined the SAD and was even given ticket from Ward No. 51. But her ticket was cancelled by the SAD in favour of Bhatia.
