JALANDHAR: Overall trophy for boys and girls was bagged by the Sangrur team in the 43rd Punjab State Water Polo and Swimming Championship concluded here on Saturday.

Overall trophy for boys and girls was bagged by the Sangrur team in the 43rd Punjab State Water Polo and Swimming Championship concluded here on Saturday. Chief Guest Chaudhary Santokh Singh distributed prizes to the winners. The members of the District Swimming Association thanked the administration for the championship.

DC Varinder Sharma, Police Commssioner Pravin Sinha, Director Sports Surjit Singh Sandhu, Principal Meritorious School Raman Kumar among others, aided the championship.

General Secretary Balraj Sharma PSA, GS Channi CT Group and Ramesh Mittal, LPU and Anil Chopra St Soldiers Group, were also acknowledged for their aid in holding the championship.

The winner of the boys group I was Sangrur with 78 points, runners up was Ludhiana and Patiala with 40 points each, winners of boys group II Ludhiana with 69 points, runners up Ferozpur and Mohali with 38 points each. Winner of the Girls Group is Patiala with 58 points, runners up of girls group I, Sangrur, with 41 points. Winners of Girls group II is Jalandhar with 80 points and the runners-up is Ludhiana with 58 points.

The winner of Water Polo in the category of boys is Faridkot while the runners up is Sangrur.
