Skill education key to women empowerment

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Paramvir Singh today said that women must attain technical education to become capable of decision-making, which would usher an era of their empowerment in real sense.

Interacting with the students at RUDSET after inaugurating the fresh batch of skill training courses here Monday, the Sub Divisional Magistrate said all efforts aimed towards empowering the women would be fruitful only if girls attain skill education and become capable of decision making.

He said that unless this goal was achieved the women empowerment would remain a distant dream and only technical education could transform the destiny of women by acting as an important tool to end the disturbing trend of exploitation of women.

Lauding RUDSET for taking great initiative for empowering women through skill education, the Sub Divisional Magistrate called it a great initiative aimed at educating and empowering the girl child.

He said that such initiatives could immensely benefit girls thereby paving way for their empowerment. He called upon the girls to attain skill education with focused attention not only for creating their identity but also for becoming a lighthouse for others. —TNS
