Everyone must have heard of songs glorifying ‘Jatt’ on TV. But with the protest of the farmers reaching the fourth day, many songs depicting the plight of farmers have been doing the rounds on social media.
‘Haigi kise da kisana bina kakh ve’ and ‘nahee chahide vyapariya nu maar ve, enna mehnati kisaana de jo haq ve (No one should rob the farmers of their rights) are the songs that are being circulated on social media.
There are songs varying from glorifying the ‘jatts’ to showing their luxurious lifestyle. Now after the protest, even the songs are portraying farmers in a different light. “Eh gal katon bhul gye ne shehraan wale, Ehna jatta deya khetan vichon hi taan bazar bharda” is another song that is becoming famous.
Even many poems elucidating how the farmers were suffering losses are becoming famous on social media.
One of the poems asks a question which goes like this, ‘Jai Kisan’ slogan is normally raised by everyone, but is it for real? One must think’.
Another poem has the title which read, ‘Jaag peya hun desh da kisan ji’. It goes like, ‘Bhukha reh reh jag nu rajaaun valeya, kyun nahee teri gall sarkar sundi’.
The farmer unions have decided to call off the protest by June 6 and it will not get continued up to June 10.
Jasbir Singh, President of the union from Kadian said wastage of milk and vegetables due to the protest was not acceptable that is why the decision has been taken in a meeting,”
