Sports trials from Apr 1

Various trials for the session 2017-18 for admission of students to the sports wing school will begin from April 1 and will commence on April 3.

The trials for residential wing (girls) will take place on April 1 while for day scholar wings (boys and girls) trials will take place on April 2 and April 3. These will be held at various places in the city from 8 am onwards.

District Sports Officer Amrik Singh said the trials for the residential wing (U17 and U19) boys (for all districts of the state) would start from April 1. Athletics, volleyball, gymnastics and swimming trials would be held at the Sports College, Jalandhar. Boxing and wrestling trials would be held at the Hans Raj Stadium, Jalandhar, and handball trials would be held at DAV College, Jalandhar. Hockey trials would be held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar, and weightlifting trials would be held at the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar.

The District Sports Officer said Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar would participate in the trials for the day scholar wings.

He said sportspersons who report at these venues at 8 am should carry their original birth certificates, certificates of sports achievements, attested copies of documents and two passport-size photographs.
