Tableaux to mark Christmas on Dec 19

The district administration would make elaborate arrangements for the upcoming tableaux on December 19 to mark the Christmas in city.

Divulging the details, Assistant Commissioner (general) Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, while presiding over a meeting of the representatives of the Christians, said the district administration would ensure foolproof arrangements so that people could participate in it with gaiety and enthusiasm.

He said the tableaux would commence from Workshop Chowk and culminate at Patel Chowk after passing through Jail Chowk, Jyoti Chowk, PNB Chowk, Lav-Kush Chowk, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur and Mai Hiran Gate.

He said arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities so that participants do not face any sort of problem.

Dhillon asked officials of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, to ensure proper cleanliness of the route of the tableaux, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets.

The Assistant Commissioner asked the Health Department to depute medical teams along with medicines and ambulances for people. — TNS
