Tattoos have become an immensely popular fashion accessory these days.
People today regard tattoos as a way of asserting one’s personality and as a marker of their identity, says Jimmy, owner of a tattoo studio.
He said, “The tattoo culture is equally popular among boys and girls. Girls get tattoos made on their neck, wrists and ankles and boys get these made on their arms. It is important that you get yourself tattooed from a reputed tattoo parlour because these use proper sterilised needles. Care should be taken as a tattoo made with an unsanitary needle can lead to infection and pose health risks.” Anjali Nagpal, who got a tattoo recently, said, “I wanted a tattoo to be an extended part for me. It’s a moon and it signifies my motto in life, which is to guide people in darkness like a moon does.”
“I got a tattoo as a souvenir of all times that has changed me in a certain way. I’ve got crescent moon as a reminder that no matter what, things do change,” shares Vanshika Kalra, who has got a moon inked on her neck. One tattoo, at times, can have varied meanings. It has an individualistic touch. It represents a person.
Aman Singh said, “I have got a “baaz” (hawk) inked on my arm which signifies the “baaz” of Guru Gobind Singh. My tattoo has a religious notion.”
