Jalandhar, April 20
The leading oil companies of the country on Friday celebrated Ujjwala Diwas under the aegis of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan during which 6123 Pradhan Mantri Ujwal Yojna (PMUY) connections were distributed at 61 LPG panchayats in the district.
The District Nodal Officer (DNO) of the campaign Devinder Kaur said during the panchayats eminent dignitaries addressed the gatherings of women and highlighted the importance of usage of clean cooking fuel with regard to health, economic, safety, environment benefits.
District Food and Supply Officer Neelkanth Sharma said Ujjwala Diwas was aimed at meeting the enhanced target of enrolling LPG beneficiaries and the panchayats were providing new LPG connections to the eligible beneficiaries.
