With 95.8% marks, Pavit Kaur tops in Nawanshahr

Nawanshahr: Pavit Kaur, a student of DAV Public School here, has topped in the district by securing 95.8 per cent marks in the CBSE Class XII examination.

A student from the medical stream, she obtained perfect 100 marks in computer science. In physics and chemistry, she secured 95 marks each, in English she got 90 marks and in mathematics, she got 99 marks. Pavit, who had also cleared the JEE Mains exam, and had recently appeared for the JEE Advance, said she wanted to bea computer engineer and was waiting for the JEE Advance results.

Daughter of a businessman, Pavit Kaur, said, “I followed a very balanced routine. For every subject, including my resting time, was fixed.”

With 94% marks, Ritika Gupta shines

A student of Shivalik Public School here, Ritika Gupta, has made the town proud by securing 94 per cent marks in the CBSE Class XII examination whose result was declared this afternoon.

A student of the commerce stream, she has got 470 marks out of 500, securing 98 marks in economics, 96 in business studies, 95 in accounts, 81 in English, 93 in maths and a perfect 100 in physical education. Ritika is now looking for admission in the BBA course abroad.

Sharing her success mantra, Ritika said, “I never studied for long hours, just studying for two-three hrs a day was my schedule. I even didn’t go in for tuitions or coaching classes. It was just a month before the exams that I took maths tuition.”

Her father Pawan Gupta said Ritika had also won prizes in various district and state-level dance competitions as her only interest apart from studies was dance.
