Workshop on GST

Jalandhar: A one-day workshop on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was organised at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya. The resource person for the workshop was CA Anirudh Sareen from K Sareen and Associates, Jalandhar. He gave a conceptual understanding of various terms and issues of the GST with examples of various local dealers and industries. He acquainted students with CGST, UTGST, SGST, IGST, compensation cess and various rates of GST at the state and central level. He addressed various queries of the students effectively. College principal Prof Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude towards the resource person and said the workshop would help widen the knowledge horizon of all students. TNS

Global Enterprise Challenge  

Jalandhar: Students of Kamla Nehru Public School, Phagwara, participated in a competition - Global Enterprise Challenge 2018 - organised in collaboration with Broadclyst Primary School, UK. A total of 22 schools from 15 countries around the world are engaged in this international entrepreneurship project. Under it, students are manufacturing retailing stuffed toys made up of recycled cloth. They are promoting UNO's 17 sustainable development goals, which is responsible consumption and production. In the project, students learn to run a real time business using Office 365 ids and Microsoft tools such as yammer, power point, word, outlook, Skype, forms, one drive. Students have designed company name, logo, slogan, sample products and conducted a market survey. TNS

Singing competition 

Jalandhar: A singing competition was organised for the commerce stream (classes XI and XII) at GMT and Royal World School. All students participated in the competition with zeal and enthusiasm. The stage was conducted by activity in charge Ambika Pasrija. In the GMT, the first position was bagged by Vanshika of Class XII-C2, Kirty of Class XI-C1 bagged the second position and Aastha of Class XII-C2 won the third position. TNS
