Youth booked for raping minor

JALANDHAR: The Phillaur police today booked a 20-year-old youth from Gana village for kidnapping and raping a minor girl living in the same village.

The Phillaur police today booked a 20-year-old youth from Gana village for kidnapping and raping a minor girl living in the same village. The accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar, who is still at large.

Speaking to Jalandhar Tribune, Paminder Singh, ASI, Phillaur, said the victim had been living with her maternal grandparents at Gana village. She was returning to Gana from her paternal grandparents’ village near Tanda Urmar yesterday, when she was kidnapped and raped by the accused.

He said the police have booked the accused under sections 363, 366-A and 376 of the IPC and sections 4, 6 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, at the Phillaur police station. No arrests have been made so far.
