Srinagar, July 11
As many as 10,183 pilgrims are scheduled to perform Haj this year through the State Haj Committee as the first flight of intending Hajjis is all set to depart from here on Saturday.
“A total of 10,183 pilgrims are leaving for the annual Haj from J&K. The first Haj flight from Srinagar International Airport will depart on July 14, 2018, while the last Haj flight from Srinagar airport will be on July 25, 2018. All outbound Haj flights for Jammu and Kashmir pilgrims will be from Srinagar to Madina,” said an official statement issued after Adviser to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai chaired a meeting to finalise arrangements for the pilgrimage.
Stressing good arrangements at the Haj house and at Srinagar airport, Ganai directed all officers to ensure their presence on ground and to provide all facilities to the pilgrims.
He directed the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, to create a WhatsApp group and add all stakeholders so that the authorities remain abreast with the situation. He also asked the Custom and Immigration authorities to facilitate smooth and hassle-free clearance of pilgrims at the airport/Haj house. —TNS
