SRINAGAR: A soldier injured in the terrorist attack on an Army base in Uri on September 18 succumbed to his injuries on Friday, taking the toll of Army personnel killed to 19.

Srinagar, September 30

A soldier injured in the terrorist attack on an Army base in Uri on September 18 succumbed to his injuries on Friday, taking the toll of Army personnel killed to 19.

Identified as Naik Raj Kishor Singh of Bhojur district in Bihar, the deceased was under treatment at RR Hospital, New Delhi, an army official said.

In the attack on the Army base in Uri, a group of four terrorists had stormed the camp and killed 18 soldiers and wounded nearly two dozen others. All the terrorists were also killed in the gunfight.

The attack led to a public outrage in the country and the Indian army carried out a cross-LoC raid on Wednesday night.
