Army Chief’s visit to Ladakh begins today

JAMMU: As China is trying to flex its muscles on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat will be on a three-day visit to Ladakh from Sunday to review the preparedness of the Army in the area.

As China is trying to flex its muscles on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat will be on a three-day visit to Ladakh from Sunday to review the preparedness of the Army in the area.

He will be landing in Leh tomorrow and will be briefed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 14 Corps, about the Army preparedness. Gen Rawat will be accompanied by Northern Command chief Lt Gen D Anbu. He is expected to visit the Pangong Tso area where on August 15 the Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA) intruded and exchanged blows with Indian Army soldiers. — TNS
