JAMMU: An Army porter was injured in an overnight firing by militants on an Army post in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said on Sunday.

An Army porter was injured in an overnight firing by militants on an Army post in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said on Sunday.

Ramiz Raja, 22, of Mandi, was injured in militant firing on an Army post along the Line of Control in Saujiyan sector, a police official said here.

"Infiltrating militants are responsible for the incident. It was a standoff firing incident." The porter was shifted to hospital for treatment.

Ramiz had sustained multiple bullet injuries, but his condition was stable, doctor said. — IANS
