Srinagar, July 10
The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, on Tuesday organised an interactive session with renowned theatre, TV actor and radio jockey Shadi Lal Koul.
Koul’s popularity was at its peak during the pre-militancy period in the Valley before the migration of Kashmir Pandits and when the serials of Doordarshan Kashmir used to be popular with the masses.
Welcoming the actor, academy secretary Aziz Hajini said the organisers were privileged to have eminent persons like Koul in their monthly interactive series ‘Naamwar’.
“Naamwar has purposely been started to provide avenues of interaction with eminent but unsung personalities like Koul,” he said.
Addressing the session, Koul said the felicitation by the organisers proved that there were individuals and organisations who recognised the contribution of unsung heroes. — TNS
