BJP blames NC, Cong for outbreak of militancy

SRINAGAR: A BJP lawmaker on Friday accused the National Conference (NC) of being responsible for the outbreak of militancy.

Srinagar, May 28

A BJP lawmaker on Friday accused the National Conference (NC) of being responsible for the outbreak of militancy.

“The NC with the help of Congress rigged elections of 1987 and it resulted in outbreak of militancy,” said BJP MLC Vibod Gupta, while speaking in favour of the Governor’s address. “Who created Salahuddin? The NC rigged elections in 1987 with the help of Delhi...”

Gupta hit out at the NC for calling the ruling coalition in J&K as “anti-Muslim”.

National Conference MLC Sajjad Kichloo, while speaking against the motion, said the Governor’s address had nothing in it.

“There was a thrust on pace and dialogue, but the situation is worsening with every day. Educated youth are joining militancy and there is no concern over the issue,” he said. The NC leader said there was no comprehensive policy for employment in the Governor’s address. — TNS
