Education Minister Naeem Akhter said today that the promotion of border tourism was a priority matter as it was connected to the normalisation of relations between India and Pakistan.

“The important facet of border tourism is that it contains potential concern for normalising the ties between India and Pakistan, for which a holistic plan has been rolled out to cater to futuristic facilities for demystifying the aura on borders,” said Naeem Akhter.

Akhter was replying to the supplementary questions raised by members in the Upper House to a question put by MLC Ashok Khajuria to the Minister of Tourism about the projects proposed to give a fillip to the tourism sector in Jammu.

On the inclusion of public-private participation (PPP), Naeem Akhter said already a mode has been devised for it.
